Pöschl Alpina has a medium-coarse grind with slightly moist texture and dark brown colour. The menthol note is strong and immediate, followed by blackberry and raspberry as the primary fruit notes. Additional tasting notes include strawberry, cherry, chocolate, and natural tobacco.

The blend contains nearly 5% menthol and almost 2% camphor, creating a cooling character. The fruit notes lean toward darker berries with a candy-like sweetness. Nicotine strength is medium. The snuff uses Pöschl's standard fluffy consistency and comes in their tap box format.

Alpina presents a candied berry composition with prominent blackberry and raspberry scenting balanced by substantial menthol. The tobacco base carries a lighter brown colour with reddish tones, while the medium grind maintains a fluffy, moist texture that clumps readily in the tin. The sweet fruit character dominates the profile, with the menthol providing a cooling counterpoint that masks much of the moderate nicotine content and reduces nasal irritation.

The moisture level facilitates easy handling for newcomers to snuff, though the light, fluffy texture makes outdoor use challenging in any breeze where the powder disperses readily. The berry scenting shows good persistence, remaining detectable well after initial use. The sweetness level is pronounced and may overwhelm those preferring tobacco-forward blends or subtle fruit notes. The combination of high moisture content and candy-like scenting places this firmly in the flavoured snuff category rather than traditional tobacco appreciation.
